And it wasn't just empty words - today George Osborne annouced that under a Conservative Government the threshhold for Inheritance Tax will increase to £1mn and first time buyers will not have to pay stamp duty on homes worth under £250,000.
I hope this will start to answer those critics who say that the current Conservative Party has no policies and is not Conservative enough.
